Contemporary Elegance in Belsize Park Brief: To transform the dank depressing area into an inviting space in keeping with the beautiful open plan living/dining area. Clients Wish List: Contemporary, low maintenance but with interesting features that would break up what was a long narrow plot. Solution: Release the patio by opening up the stairs and letting the view flow through to encompass a lounging area, a dining terrace and water feature. I, then introduced 3 yew buttress that intersected without dissecting the garden –creating a journey and adding dimension. Planting: Minimalist planting but with plenty of architectural foliage plants to soften the rectangular beds and complement the now totally transformed garden.
